Bangchak Sriracha delivers its 1st supply of B24 marine biofuel in Thailand

Bangchak and NYK Line officials gathered Feb. 24 to witness delivery of the first lot of B24 marine biofuel produced at Bangchak Sriracha Public Co. Ltd.’s refinery.

The delivery was made onto an NYK vessel, the Iris Leader, at Laem Chabang Port in the Sriracha District of Thailand’s Chonburi Province.
The lot totaled 470 metric tons.
Bangchak Sriracha has received the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC EU) for the production of B24 marine biofuel and has officially started selling it to customers of liner ships.

The company said there is currently a lot of interest from customers, especially Japanese shipping lines, in its certified B24 bunker fuel.

Bangchak’s B24 marine biofuel is 24 percent biodiesel made from used cooking oil blended with conventional fuel oil containing 0.5 percent sulfur.
B24 bunker fuel reduces emissions and can directly replace fossil fuels without the need for modifications to the ship's engines or fuel infrastructure.
