BDI technology enters Chinese market

The recent 2024 Global Biofuel Focus Conference marked a significant milestone for Rieckermann, as the company announced that technologies from BDI-BioEnergy International, a company Rieckermann co-owns, are now officially available on the Chinese market through the group.

The announcement was made by Massimiliano Carlini, Rieckermann’s managing director in China, and Hermann Stockinger, BDI’s head of sales management.  

In addition to this announcement, the conference functioned as a platform for the company to engage in active discussions centered around sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) technology, particularly the pretreatment of waste oils, fats and greases.

Further topics included an exploration of methods to reduce organic chlorine in the aforementioned process, with special consideration given to growing market demands for cost-efficient operations.

The conference saw around 200 attendees, predominantly from China, highlighting the growing interest in sustainable-fuel solutions within the region.

The event also aligned with the country’s strategic move towards greener energy solutions, presenting technology processes that are not only sustainable but also profitable and readily accessible.

China’s biodiesel market faces significant challenges due to EU import duties, so Rieckermann and BDI’s latest offering is therefore aimed at offsetting these effects and energizing the local biofuel segment.

This initiative also highlights both companies’ dedication to fostering innovation and advancing growth within the industry.

The Global Biofuel Focus Conference took place Nov. 26-28 in Haikou, China.

Organized by the Enmore Group, this year marked the event’s 11th edition.
