Clean Fuels Alliance America joins Low Carbon Fuels Coalition as director-level member
The Low Carbon Fuels Coalition, a technology-neutral trade association with a proven track record of supporting and expanding clean-fuel standards, announced Jan. 15 that Clean Fuels Alliance America had joined the coalition as a director-level member.
Clean Fuels Alliance America is the national trade association representing biodiesel, renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel, with more than 100 companies in nearly all 50 states, varying from Fortune 100 companies to small, family-owned producers, that coordinates technical, environmental, and quality-assurance programs to create sustainable industry growth.
“Since 1992, we have been a member-driven organization, coordinating research and development in the United States for mainstream low-carbon fuel options that deliver superior performance and emission reductions for on-road, off-road, air transportation, electricity generation and home heating applications,” said Donnell Rehagen, CEO of Clean Fuels.
“As a proven, innovative part of America’s clean energy mix, our diverse members made up of feedstock producers and processors, fuel suppliers and marketers, distributors and technology providers share the Low Carbon Fuels Coalition’s goal to promote technology-neutral and market-based policies that reduce carbon emissions, drive investment and jobs, and protect public health by advancing clean fuel adoption,” Rehagen added.
LCFC Executive Director Robin Vercruse said, “We enthusiastically welcome Clean Fuels Alliance America. Clean Fuels has been a leading voice for an all-of-the-above approach to reduce carbon emissions from transportation fuels, aligning perfectly with the Low Carbon Fuel Coalition’s core mission. Clean-fuel standard policies have demonstrated resounding success in transitioning to low-carbon fuels with minimal disruption and cost. We look forward to working together with Clean Fuels to introduce the proven climate, economic, health and consumer benefits to additional states.”
California, Washington, Oregon and now the second largest oil-and-gas state, New Mexico, have all adopted clean-fuel standards, with states including Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Minnesota also considering legislation.
Clean Fuels joins the growing list of LCFC members, in addition to trade associations such as the American Biogas Council and the U.S. Canola Association, as well as organizations representing low-carbon transportation fuel producers, distributors, service providers and end users including Amazon, American Airlines, Bayer, Boeing, Cargill, Darling Ingredients, Gevo, Green Plains, Next Renewable Fuels, NGL, NuSeed, Poet, Suburban Propane and UPS.
