Ecomotive Solutions and Isotta Fraschini Motori signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in September, launching a strategic partnership to develop innovative engines powered by biofuels and green hydrogen.

The partnership aims to create advanced technological solutions in the field of internal-combustion engines, leveraging Ecomotive Solutions’ expertise in renewable fuel technologies and Isotta Fraschini’s longstanding experience in high-quality engine manufacturing.

Together, the two companies intend to play a key role in the transition towards net zero by developing flexible engines capable of operating with various sustainable energy carriers.

“This agreement represents a crucial step towards a more sustainable future, with the goal of creating tangible solutions for the decarbonization of the engine industry,” said Giovanni Deregibus, the president of Ecomotive Solutions.

Marco A.G. Golinelli, the chief commercial officer of Isotta Fraschini Motori, added, “Isotta Fraschini is proud to collaborate with Ecomotive Solutions on this project that blends tradition and innovation, aiming for a future where sustainability is at the heart of technology.”

The signing of the agreement, which took place during Hydrogen-Expo in Piacenza, Italy, marks a significant milestone for the Italian industry, continuing its push towards green solutions that are competitive on an international level.

Ecomotive Solutions is in the field of electronic engine-control systems for alternative fuels and renewable energies.

From its Diesel Dual Fuel platform to 100 percent biomethane transformations, it offers technologies and products made in Italy as well as certified training and prompt assistance all over the world.

Isotta Fraschini Motori, a Fincantieri company, is an engine maker specializing in marine propulsion and gensets.
