ENGlobal awarded $9 million FEED contract for renewable diesel, SAF project in Alberta, Canada
ENGlobal, a leading provider of innovative project-delivery solutions for the energy industry, announced Feb. 1 it has received an award valued at more than $9 million from Calgary-based Reconciliation Energy Transition Inc. to perform the front-end engineering and design (FEED) work for a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and renewable diesel project as part of RETI’s Calgary Region Green Energy Industrial Park.
The renewable diesel and SAF plant is being scaled at nearly 100 million gallons per year.
The project, awarded to ENGlobal Jan. 27, will commence immediately and is expected to be completed this year.
This assignment follows ENGlobal’s recent completion of several similarly sized renewable diesel and SAF plant projects, according to the company.
“We’re excited to announce this new renewable fuels project,” said Marc van den Boom, ENGlobal’s senior vice president. “Together with our partners, we are proud to provide a proven, modularized and standardized renewable diesel/SAF solution that allows us to bring speed and predictability of project success to Canada’s fast-moving energy transition.”
Stephen Mason, chairman and CEO of Reconciliation Energy Transition, added, “Sustainable aviation fuel is one of the most promising answers to the energy-transition challenge, with Alberta and Canada already emerging as leaders. We are excited to be part of accelerating this transformation with partners such as ENGlobal.”
The Feb. 1 announcement follows one made by RETI in November that, along with ENGlobal and others, it had formed a partnership devoted to developing renewable diesel and SAF projects that will serve Canada’s emerging biobased diesel production needs.
