Neste Corp.’s Rotterdam refinery has been shut down due to a Nov. 8 fire.

The company said the fire was extinguished the same day it started and resulted in no injuries.

Neste is currently investigating the incident.

Repair work will start as soon as possible, the company stated.

“Based on our initial assessment, the Rotterdam refinery production will be down for several weeks impacting the renewable diesel customer deliveries,” Neste said.

The company said it is mitigating any impacts on its renewable diesel customers.

“The incident has no effect on the ongoing Rotterdam refinery-expansion project,” Neste stated.

The Rotterdam fire follows an October equipment failure at its Singapore refinery, which caused the company to shut down renewable diesel production there as well.
