Michigan Advanced Biofuels Coalition, partners to host ‘Biodiesel on the Riverwalk’ event in Detroit Aug. 29

The Michigan Advanced Biofuels Coalition (MiABC) and industry partners are hosting an event Aug. 29 in Detroit, Michigan, to educate stakeholders and policymakers on the immediate benefits of drop-in biobased diesel fuels like biodiesel.

The event, “Biodiesel on the Riverwalk,” will feature expert speakers from MiABC and partnering organizations including:

  • The Michigan Soybean Association.

  • Southwest Detroit Environmental Vision.

  • Michigan Clean Cities.

  • The Detroit/Wayne County Port Authority.

  • Warner Petroleum Group.

MiABC representatives will also provide a crash course on biobased diesel fuels during the event to showcase the many health, economic, environmental and operational benefits of implementing low-carbon fuels like biodiesel.

“The Michigan Advanced Biofuels Coalition is proud to host 'Biodiesel on the Riverwalk' to educate local leaders and policymakers on the immediate benefits of domestically produced low-carbon liquid fuels like biodiesel,” said Bailey Arnold, MiABC’s project director for sustainability and outreach.

“Biodiesel is an immediate solution that can be used in any diesel vehicle, vessel or locomotive to lower tailpipe and lifecycle-carbon emissions,” Arnold added.

In April, Biobased Diesel Daily® shared how the Detroit/Wayne County Port Authority is immediately leveraging biodiesel to reduce emissions now.

“Taking actionable steps to lower emissions today will pay dividends for our planet and health tomorrow,” Arnold said.

“Biodiesel on the Riverwalk” is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Eastern time at the Detroit/Wayne County Port Authority building, located at 130 Atwater Street on the Detroit Riverwalk.

MiABC is asking interested parties to RSVP via this registration form or by scanning the QR code on the event photo above.

The association is encouraging people to share the event within their network.
