Neste expands its branded renewable diesel into Belgian market
Neste Corp.’s branded renewable diesel is now for sale in Belgium. In collaboration with channel partner EG Group, the launch into the Belgian market follows a successful introduction of Neste MY Renewable Diesel in the Netherlands in October 2019, now available at more than 100 Dutch stores and more than 500 locations globally.
“Since the joint launch of Neste MY Renewable Diesel in the Netherlands, we offer Neste MY Renewable Diesel B2B home base deliveries and to B2B and private customers via our fuel stations,” said Jurgen Artz with EG Group. “Following the success in the Netherlands, we are looking forward to entering the Belgian market and supporting the customers to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions immediately.”
The fuel is currently available at more than 100 stations throughout the Netherlands and more than 500 locations worldwide, including Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, the United States and now Belgium.
“This expansion is another important step in the execution of our growth strategy globally,” said Peter Vanacker, president and CEO at Neste. “We are very excited to expand our renewable diesel offering in Europe and especially in Belgium, a country which is at the heart of Europe. We firmly believe that all solutions are needed to reduce transportation-related emissions and support the sector’s contribution to the EU-level target of reaching carbon-neutrality by 2050.”
Unlike electric vehicles, renewable diesel can reduce carbon emissions by up to 90 percent without modifications to existing engines, vehicles or fuel distribution infrastructure.
Neste’s current global, annual production capacity for renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel is 3.2 million tons, but by Q1 2023 this will increase to nearly 4.5 million tons.
