NREL seeks postdoc researcher to study low carbon fuel combustion

National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colorado, is accepting applications for a postdoctoral researcher to investigate, collaborate and reveal mechanisms of theoretical and computational combustion chemistries of low carbon fuels.

The person who fills the position at NREL’s Center for Integrated Mobility Sciences will be focused on development of mechanistic models for biofuel combustion.

According to NREL, the models will “focus on understanding chemical mechanisms that govern the reactivity of new biofuel candidates, leveraging quantum chemical calculations and chemical kinetic simulations.” Qualified candidates must be a recent Ph.D. graduate within the past three years and possess a strong publication record. Applicants should also be fluent in at least one scientific programming environment, although Python is preferred.
