V-Bunkers delivers marine biofuel to shipping clients in Singapore

Vitol’s Singapore bunker operations company V-Bunkers announced March 17 that its barges have recently made several deliveries of very low sulfur fuel oil (VLSFO) blended with marine biofuel.

“We are delighted to have demonstrated in multiple deliveries that we have the capability to bring to market these bespoke blended bunker supplies containing renewable energy,” said Mike Muller, head of Vitol Asia. “We appreciate the support of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore in facilitating these initial trial deliveries. Biofuel bunker blends represent an ‘available-right-now’ decarbonization option for shipowners and we are committed to making these blends more readily accessible to our shipping customers.”

Quah Ley Hoon, the chief executive of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, added, “We are pleased to facilitate Vitol’s successful delivery of their first biofuel-blended VLSFO to Singapore.
