Veriflux traces 1 billionth pound of low carbon-intensity feedstock
Veriflux, the global leader in renewable traceability and sustainability management, announced Dec. 16 that it has successfully traced its 1 billionth pound of low carbon-intensity (CI) feedstock.
This milestone arrives at a critical moment, as regulators and market participants worldwide intensify their focus on reliable feedstock verification to support the rapid expansion of low-carbon fuels.
Founded in 2020, Veriflux is the only U.S. EPA-funded platform designed for end-to-end traceability, circularity and Bio Optionality™.
Veriflux’s platform provides step-by-step digital traceability to ensure that feedstocks are properly sourced and meet the requirements of their intended markets.
To date, Veriflux has traced renewable feedstocks from hundreds of thousands of points of origin, through supply chains encompassing 850 companies across more than 20 countries.
“Reaching 1 billion pounds traced illustrates that traceability is more than a ‘nice-to-have’—it’s a market necessity,” said Dani Charles, the co-founder of Veriflux.
“Our platform ensures that renewable feedstocks and fuels are truly low carbon, meet regulatory standards and provide the optionality needed to succeed in diverse, evolving global markets,” Charles added.
Veriflux’s announcement comes amid increasing scrutiny over the authenticity of renewable feedstocks.
In mid-December, a bipartisan group of U.S. senators sent a letter to EPA questioning what more can be done to trace the origin of used cooking oil (UCO) imported into the United States for use in the Renewable Fuel Standard.
This sentiment was echoed by a recent report from the European Federation for Transport and Environment (T&E), which called into question UCO imports into the European Union.
Veriflux’s accomplishment offers a timely demonstration of how advanced traceability solutions can help address these very concerns.
